SPŠ Dubnica nad Váhom develop their knowledge in the field of additive manufacturing using a 3D printer for composite materials. In this school year 2023/24, they will be able to try out the new technology for the production of components directly in the classroom.

During the summer holidays, as part of the project BIN SGS02-2021-007 and Activity 3 - Modern Classroom, we purchased a modern 3D printer for composite materials Markforged.

On Tuesday 13.6. had SPŠ Dubnica nad Váhom the opportunity to attend the showroom of Mitutoyo in Považská Bystrica, which is dedicated to the inspection and measurement of components.

The additive manufacturing course took place at the University of Žilina from February to May, where students, employees and the general public had the opportunity to learn about current trends in the field of additive manufacturing.

Slovak proverb "Better seen once than heard a hundred times" was confirmed this time too. The workshop managed to connect school with practice.

In Activity 6, students and teachers had the opportunity to get a glimpse into the world of reverse engineering.

Inspection and measurement of components require close attention. Dimensional accuracy is an integral part of production quality.

Education is not only for young students, teachers from Dubnica nad Váhom want to keep up with the times full of new possibilities and digitalization.

As part of the AM course, SLS technology was introduced to the participants. This technology uses in the production process a material in the form of a powder that is melted/sintered by a laser beam layer by layer.

Teachers from SPŠ in Dubnica nad Váhom have started practical training as a preparation for a new device (printer) with a focus on the preparation and creation of models for 3D printing.

From February to May, the University of Žilina organize the course on additive manufacturing, which is covered by pedagogical and research staff (experts in the field of AM).

Working together for a green, competitive and inclusive Europe. This was the spirit of the presentation of the project, which was presented to the parents of students from SPŠ Dubnica nad Váhom.

Within the framework of cooperation with STU MTF in Trnava, a lecture on Composite Materials was organized. The aim of the lecture was to familiarize students with the basic division of composite materials, differences between different types of composite materials, the way of use.

As part of the introduction of innovative additive methods into teaching, students from Secondary Technical High School in Dubnica nad Váhom again presented their work - this time to teachers from the Secondary School of Industrial Transport in Prague 5 Motol (Czech Republic).

Students from SPŠ Dubnica nad Váhom had a unique opportunity to join a lecture combined with a workshop led by PhD student Ing. Tomáš Macháč from MTF STU. It also included a practical demonstration of samples from MTF STU.

After the winter preparation in the form of professional lectures, we started the creative part with the students. The students prepared their own student work focused on the use of additive technologies.
