Activity 6
Virtual manufacturing
Augmented reality is one of the technologies that are increasingly finding their application not only in the educational process but also in production.
The concept of augmented reality is an umbrella for a number of different types, but in general we can define augmented reality (XR) as “an environment that either combines physical with virtual or provides a fully virtual experience.” The aim of the activity is to use augmented reality in education, in designing production simulations, which would allow students to make interactions and activities an experience that would not be possible in reality, and also to understand the concepts of problematic phenomena based on their presentation using visual and virtual experiences. Virtual reality leads to the development of imagination, creativity and the ability to work with technology.
The virtual objects used include text, images, video clips, sounds, 3D models, and animations. Virtual reality or VR is a concept of current trends. Through virtual reality, it is possible to easily, visually design and verify new production solutions using production simulation software. It can be used in mechanical engineering, the automotive industry, electrical engineering and other industries.
