Activity 5
Geometric Product Specification

Implementation and application of ISO GPS language in the educational process, identification of designed geometric elements that are on the surface of samples created by additive technologies and subsequent evaluation of surface integrity when applying the latest GPS approaches (geometric product specifications), requirements and criteria.

Based on various combinations of technological parameters, individual influences and changes on surface integrity will be analyzed, which will be analyzed by destructive and non-destructive detection technologies. Investigation of the influences of process parameters (laser power, scanning speed, distribution of scanned points, internal structure) and their influence on the final shape, surface integrity, surface treatment and production accuracy of the building from applied materials.

The aim of the activity is to help students achieve such a level of knowledge and such professional skills regarding green innovative production systems, and to force them to consider alternative product design. The basis is to produce a prototype component from composite materials using reverse engineering technology and design optimization of surface quality and dimensional accuracy in the production process.
